Being Intentional

How many times do you crumple up an original page of thoughts and start over?
If you’re like us, probably many times over before you’re finally satisfied to release your idea to the world. It’s the tyranny of our societal and personal expectations for being right, even perfect. But that very process of scrapping ideas in formation highlights the inherently flawed search for perfection, versus a purer pursuit of excellence.
With the launch of this Intentional Canada site, we’re coming out of our silence to encourage dialogue and ideation. Our ideas are only partly formed, and we don’t have many answers at this point. We want to achieve momentum and direction, versus wait to get it all “right”, even when it comes to the questions we’re asking in the process. To us, intentionality isn’t an endpoint, but a form of dedicated time and willpower brought to the process of exploring, thinking, talking, and deciding.
Intentionality is about showing up to be heard, and having the courage and conviction to voice your thoughts. Respectful dialogue — even heated debate, within boundaries — is always encouraged, as no one person has all the answers, and no single person holds the keys for approval.
It is also inherently future-oriented, as we can only direct our intentionality ahead of us.
Be part of our efforts and our thinking.

My interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there.
